Today we’re going to feature this cool 1976 Chevy Laguna and explore what this car has to offer. It’s a car that you never really see. These cars were really popular in ’76, so to see one now is kind of a rare sight.
The Chevrolet factory found out about 1911 and so the story goes. They contacted and said hey you’ve got this incredibly valuable car that once belonged to the king. Give us both of those The 1976 Chevy Laguna we will give them top-of-the-line top-dollar restorations. We will give you back the second car if you allow us to keep the Elvis car.
The owner said deal, and that’s the way it went up, and the car is here. Here’s a look at a massive field in race number for a roughly 50 starters least 50 cars entered, including as you see lots of Chevrolets and then traditional and white. And believe this is one of the field time been looking forward to this weekend because this is where we’re going to get a chance to see a lot of those.

Same to be a The 1976 Chevy Laguna sent to remember we’ll see yourselves, and we talked about the table tops. For example, the feeling hasn’t seen them in a finger, in quite a few years it’s going to be fun watching them. Today absolutely on the other drivers and pose your break-even wasting, now relax and we will talk a lot about Chevrolet.
I can remember back in high school when I first showed my buddies the car, and they were like that’s not a Chevy. Everybody thinks about the ’70s or the ’72s or stuff like that. But, for some reason, I kept on it, I kept at it, and I held onto it for all these years.
And now it’s getting the recognition that I think they deserve. They’re a cool looking car. Well, I totally agree with you. I think the body style of this thing, a lot of people overlook them. And it’s like a lot of these older cars, once you start massaging them a little bit, drop them a little bit, a different set of wheels and whatnot, a little paint here and there. And I think the key is really the personal touches that you’ve installed on this car. There’s so much, I think, of your personality that comes out from this machine.
The 1976 Chevy Laguna Reviews
The 1976 Chevy Laguna, from the outside, is just outstanding. This car has got a personality and a presence that is just unbelievable. You drive by, and people look at this car, and you know immediately that this car is just all business. It’s not trying to pretend it’s something it’s not. It’s not trying to pretend it’s a show car.
He bought it for 1,400 bucks after he saved the money from a paper route that he used to do, which is pretty cool. And over the years this car has been through a whole bunch of different lives. It’s been yellow with black stripes, side pipes, jacked up, Cragars in the back and on the front. I mean, crazy bumblebee style, you know what I’m saying? Not like new Transformers Bumblebee, but like old crappy Camaro Bumblebee. This is much better.
The front tires and wheels are 17 by 9. They’re the Cragar soft 8s They probably weigh 60 pounds apiece. But they’re 285/40/17 in the front, and then the back I had stretched to 10 and 1/2. And those are Cragar soft 8s as well, but they’re 315/35/17s.
Like people look through catalogs, and they look at wheels and things like that. And they go, well, like I want an 18 by or 17 by 10. But I can only get into an 18 by 8. You can modify that, the same way he did. You can take the wheel in; you can get it stretched, You can get it widened to fit whatever you want it to. That’s the beauty. What I didn’t realize, and what I don’t think many people realize, is that you didn’t have to modify anything underneath to fit a 285 up front and you said you could put a 335 back here if you wanted to.
There’s still probably about 2 and 1/2 inches left to go on the inside. And if I decide to stretch these wheels even more and make them weigh 80 pounds apiece, then we’ll definitely we’ll at least try.
From a power perspective, The 1976 Chevy Laguna is not like a massively powerful beast. It’s got about 400 horsepower. But you know what’s beautiful about that? In a car this big, that weighs about 4,000 pounds, that’s about 17 feet long, You can utilize every last bit of it which is outstanding. And the nice part is you don’t have to worry about getting yourself into that much trouble. You go out, you’ve got your 400 horsepower, you’re not going to worry about making the ass swing out coming around corners. If you’re coming out of a turn, you don’t have to worry about it.
Most people would say ah, I’m going to put 700 horsepower in this thing, and they forget that they have to stop it, they forget that they have to turn it, they forget that, you know what? Maybe I should invest in a good set of tires, so that when I do try to stop it, I don’t slide off the road on my budget Costco units that I frigging spent 80 bucks a shot on. He did it the reverse. He said let me upgrade the suspension, let me upgrade the brakes, let me update the tranny, the rear end, and everything else. And he did it, and what he’s got is an absolutely fabulous well thought out package.
So one of the best parts about owning a muscle car is going through a tunnel. Tunnels and muscle cars, well, they go together like kibbles and bits, like peanut butter and jelly. And they sound outstanding.
